at the Goose Creek Country Club in Baytown,

DR.
LOUIS B. HUGHES. Dr. Hughes
had a private practice in Baytown for 46 years
in Baytown, before joining the the team at San
Jacinto Methodist Hospital Family Practice
Residency Program, where he been teaching
residents on a voluntary basis since 1982.
Dr. Hughes is married to Edwina Hughes who he
met while Dr. Hughes studied medicine at Tulane
University in New Orleans.
The special
guest speaker for the event is MS.
ANGELA L. BRADEN. Ms.
Braden is hailed by many to be one of the most
gifted and captivating speakers to recently
emerge. Although she lost all of her
eyesight as a child, she didn't allow her
disability to define her destiny. She
overcame the many barriers of being blind and
earned a bachelors degree in Communication
Studies from the University of North Texas, as
well as a masters degree in Speech
Communications from Texas Southern University.
While in college, Angela received a number of
scholastic awards from various organizations,
such as the Coca-Cola Foundation, the National
Honor Society, the National Dean's List, and the
American Council for the Blind.
Angela is
currently part of the teaching faculty at Lone
Star College in the Greater Houston area.
For nearly all of Angela's students, she is the
first teacher that they've encountered with a
disability. Therefore, the educational
experience for Angela's students is quite unique
and extraordinary, to say the least.
