Opportunity Center
The Opportunity Center
offers a variety of programs which include:
•Sheltered Workshop: Clients Receive personal,
social and work skills training to enhance the
ability to interact and participate in the
community.
•Assembly: Clients construct pallets and stakes
which are sold to individuals and businesses.
•Recycling: The Opportunity Center collects,
weighs and crushes aluminum cans. The Center
pays a competitive rate for the cans.
•Lawn Maintenance: Lawn care is provided at the
Opportunity Center and at contracted sites.
Skills training includes learning to operate
push and riding lawnmowers, weedeaters, and
edgers.
•Greenhouse: Clients perform cultivation and
maintenance of vegetable, bedding and
houseplants. The are then sold to the public and
area nurseries.
•Mail Service & Packaging: Clients perform a
full range of bulk mailing services that include
collating, folding, inserting, sealing, postage
application and post office preparation.
•Janitorial Services: Janitorial duties are
performed at the Opportunity Center and various
contracted work sites. Basic skills training in
sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom care,
buffing, etc.
