I truly believe I have the best job in Texas.
Since joining Bay Area Rehabilitation Center in 2010, I have been blessed beyond measure to be part of an organization that is so much more than a place that provides services. BARC is a place where lives are changed, families are supported, dreams are encouraged, and possibilities are created every day.
I began my journey with BARC as the Program Director for the Opportunity Center. What started as a career opportunity quickly became something much deeper—a calling. Over the years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals with disabilities and their families, celebrating their accomplishments, standing beside them through challenges, and witnessing firsthand what can happen when someone is given the opportunity, support, and encouragement to reach their fullest potential.
The people we serve have taught me some of life’s greatest lessons. They have taught me about courage, perseverance, joy, determination, and the importance of never allowing a limitation to define what is possible. I am proud to say that I serve some of the most amazing individuals on this side of heaven.
When I was asked to become Executive Director, I was honored, humbled, and, honestly, a little nervous. I knew the responsibility that came with leading an organization with such a rich history and such a meaningful mission. But my love for Bay Area Rehabilitation Center, the people we serve, and the incredible team who makes our work possible was greater than my fears. I knew in my heart that this was an opportunity to continue something very special—to honor the foundation built before me while helping BARC grow, evolve, and reach even more individuals and families who need us.
As Executive Director, my commitment is to lead BARC with passion, integrity, compassion, generosity, and purpose. I want every person who walks through our doors to know that they matter, that they are valued, and that we believe in their potential.
I am incredibly proud of our team. The heart of BARC is its people—the dedicated staff who show up every day ready to serve, encourage, advocate, teach, and make a difference. It is an honor to work alongside people who believe in our mission and understand that what we do is not simply a job. It is an opportunity to change lives.
As we continue the legacy of Bay Area Rehabilitation Center, I am excited about what the future holds. We will continue to grow our programs, reach more families, advocate for the individuals we serve, and create opportunities for people with disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilling, and independent lives.
My greatest hope is that when people think of BARC, they think of hope, opportunity, compassion, and possibilities.
I am grateful every day for the opportunity to serve this organization, this community, and the incredible individuals and families who have entrusted us to be part of their journey.
For me, BARC isn't just where I work. It is where my heart is.
