Opportunity Center

​The Opportunity Center at Bay Area Rehabilitation Center provides adults with disabilities meaningful day-based programming, social engagement, and opportunities to develop vocational, life, and work-related skills in a supportive environment. The program helps build confidence, independence, and participation in the community.

Our Mission
At the Opportunity Center, participants are encouraged to grow socially, personally, and vocationally through structured activities and skill-building programs. We support individuals of all abilities to develop skills that enhance daily living, community involvement, and employment readiness.

What We Offer
Participants in the Opportunity Center receive a range of services geared toward skill development and independence:

Core Services
  • Vocational evaluation and assessment
  • Personal-social adjustment
  • Work adjustment and training
  • Activities of daily living support
  • Case management and coordination
  • Job readiness training
  • Job placement support
  • Vocational counseling
  • Transportation assistance (limited)

Skill Development & Training
Our program includes hands-on training in real work activities that support community participation and confidence building:

Examples of Training Areas
  • Sheltered Workshop: Build personal, social, and employment skills through structured tasks.
  • Assembly: Construct items such as pallets and stakes for local customers.
  • Lawn Maintenance: Learn to operate mowers, edgers, and other equipment for landscaping tasks.
  • Greenhouse Work: Cultivate and care for plants and produce items available for purchase.
  • Mail & Packaging Services: Collate, fold, insert, seal, and prepare bulk mailings.
  • Janitorial Services: Practice cleaning and maintenance tasks in a supportive setting.
  • Employment Training: Comprehensive skills training for adults transitioning to community employment.

The Opportunity Center serves adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities who benefit from structured, skill-focused activities and social engagement. Whether you’re building work skills, seeking meaningful daily routines, or strengthening life skills, we’re here to help you thrive.
